Membership Criteria

The Stable is an invitation-led community for senior operators helping build stronger, more capable organisations in New Zealand.

We are focused on leaders who do the work, not just talk about it: people responsible for scale, transformation, operating discipline, and execution inside real organisations.

Membership is selective by design. We are building a high-trust room for leaders who can contribute meaningful experience, challenge each other constructively, and help turn good ideas into measurable outcomes.

Who Full Membership is for

Full Membership is intended for leaders who:

• are current VP, C-suite, founder, or equivalent senior operators
• are based in New Zealand and actively operating here
• hold meaningful responsibility for technology, operations, transformation, scale, or execution
• are actively leading change inside a company, or have been deeply involved in material transformation work in the last 12 months
• bring practical experience in areas such as:
  • technology and platform leadership
  • operating model improvement
  • AI capability uplift
  • organisational scaling
  • business transformation
  • cross-functional execution
• are willing to contribute time, expertise, introductions, and honest perspective
• value discretion, generosity, candour, and low-ego collaboration

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Membership exists for leaders who are not NZ-based, but who have material influence in New Zealand.

This may include:

• senior operators with meaningful NZ involvement
• transformation leaders working across NZ organisations
• select consultants or service providers with recent hands-on transformation experience
• specialist leaders whose perspective materially strengthens the community

Affiliate Members are expected to meet the same standards of contribution, discretion, and practical value as Full Members.

How we prioritise membership

We bias toward:

• founders and operators inside companies
• leaders in tech-enabled businesses
• people with recent, credible transformation experience
• members who are prepared to contribute more than they consume
• leaders aligned with the broader goal of improving execution and growth capability in New Zealand

The Stable is not designed for:

• recruiters
• passive networkers
• generic vendors
• people seeking access without contribution
• title-only executives without a clear record of delivery
• members primarily looking to sell into the room

Admission

Prospective members must be:

• submitted by one member
• seconded by at least one other member
• assessed on both credibility and contribution
• aligned with the culture and obligations of the community

Membership is not a status badge. It is a commitment to contribute to a trusted room of serious operators.
